Well, in Hong-Kong it’s really hard. Especially in the wet markets because loads of tourits/photographers like to go there to snap photos so I guess the people working get angry and frustrated. It’s usually the elder chinese women that hate it, and when I can sense they wouldn’t allow me to take their photograph I try to take it without them noticing.

I guess it’s bad and good at the same time, bad being I’m not getting their permission but good because If I did… the common thing they tend to do is pose and feel more self conscious which ultimately shows in the photograph.

When I do ask for permission by pointing and smiling at my camera and smiling at them, they either wave their hands and shake their heads in disapproval (which happens the most) or smile and allow me to photograph.

More on my ‘Dance Project’

I had a greaaat day with my good friend Natasha Naplesjumping and leaping around Queen’s Rd. Central area for my ongoing ‘Dance Project’. We explored around the police station on Hollywood Rd. and happened to take a few shots outside Tony & Guy hair salon and the artistic director came out and spoke to Natasha telling her she would be great for promotional pictures for their company because of her luscious amazing hair! maa gurll got scouted yaaa’lll.

I can’t wait to share the final products with everyone so please stay tuned! Tomorrow I’m doing a lil something something with Abi Brown. Wish me luck, i’m very nervous yet excited…

Ike is a fashion and portrait photographer based in Hong Kong. My mum is really close friends with him and has always been showing me his stunning nude portraits and fashion work, which consist of models I am close to and have requested to do shoots with me!! -yay- His latest coffee table book called ‘Eden’ can be found on my own coffee table which I look at regularly for inspiration and i’m constantly taken aback by the delicacy of each photo and the juxtaposition of two photographs placed side by side really compliment each other. I am currently trying to gain an internship with him for my work experience week at school, so i’m crossing my fingers i will!!! I would get sooo much out of just spending a day with him on set.

where it began

I’ve probably said this before… but the main reason why I ever started photographing is because of my dad. He is a really keen photographer aswell, he photographed his trips in the Sahara Desert with the Zebras n shit and also when he lived in Marakesh and loooads of other places when he was road trippin’ around Africa and the Middle East in his 20’s. He just showed me a few and i’m always so fascinated about his travels and photography so I thought i’d show you a few snaps he took on what he says was probably a Pentax.
